Norway, “the land of the midnight sun,” and the home of the vikings, is best-known for its magical fjords and picturesque coastal towns, but it is also a place where the realities of climate change are very tangible. As one of the world’s most northernmost countries, Norway is witnessing the effects of climate change in real time – from the rapid melting of glaciers to thawing permafrost.

A recognized global leader in innovation and adaptation, Norway’s economy and business sectors have changed radically in the past 40–50 years and now the country is ready to make the next necessary shifts. To this end, Norway is pursuing an ambitious climate policy in partnership with the European Union and has committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40% by 2030 compared with the reference year 1990. Norway has also signed the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism.

Perhaps most relevant for Innovate for Tomorrow Climate Action Summit however, is the country’s vibrant community developing new climate solutions. From carbon dioxide storage to maritime, aviation, and electric vehicle solutions, the country offers unique access to ideas and networking to bring about necessary transformations to support our climate.
