Growing up in a small town in New Hampshire with an itch to see the world fostered in her a curiosity and desire to make an impact. This inspired her to join the Peace Corps with the intention of studying Public Health following her service. Instead, she found herself intrigued by and overwhelmed with the love of culture, anthropology, eco-tourism, nature, and storytelling. Living in a tiny, remote village allowed for copious downtime. She applied her love of marketing, design, and photography into every project she could.

In this conversation, Bumsted talks about how her love of landscape and nature influenced her career path and how she transitioned into photography after originally planning to work in the public health sector. She also shares stories of her early career, and more about her work at AAA Washington, where she is inspired by leadership's fun and thoughtful rebrand, mixed with her main passion – sustainability efforts.

Tune in for the full story and hear more about how her early experiences have formed her relationship to art and the environment.
