Mount Washington Cog Railway opens FREE Base Station experience: the NEW Cog Railway Museum and Peppersass Pond live fish, Bretton Woods. The world’s first mountain-climbing railway opens a brand new FREE museum at their base station. Exhibits include their Emmy-award winning documentary, an interactive cog wheel and rack, and a bio-diesel train simulator. The railway also plans to stock the Peppersass Pond with trout for educational purposes where guests are welcome to feed them and watch them jump. The Famous Winnipesaukee Pier sold for $2 million, Laconia Weirs Beach. New owners East Coast Flight Craft purchased the Pier and announced immediate plans to add parking and picnic areas. Space will be leased to new vendors including a smoke house serving BBQ as well as other eateries. Their 5 year plans include reconfiguring the pier to a more upscale recreational and dining destination and plans to invest up to $4 million.
