Mount Washington Cog Railway opens FREE Base Station experience: the NEW Cog Railway Museum and Peppersass Pond live fish, Bretton Woods. The world’s first mountain-climbing railway opens a brand new FREE museum at their base station. Exhibits include their Emmy-award winning documentary, an interactive cog wheel and rack, and a bio-diesel train simulator. The Famous Winnipesaukee Pier sold for $2 million, Laconia Weirs Beach. New owners East Coast Flight Craft purchased the Pier and announced immediate plans to add parking and picnic areas. Space will be leased to new vendors including a smoke house serving BBQ as well as other eateries. Their 5 year plans include reconfiguring the pier to a more upscale recreational and dining destination and plans to invest up to $4 million.
