Heliconia Unveils New Seasons of Award-Winning Adventure TV Series Premiering in 2024

Heliconia, the acclaimed media production and marketing company, is thrilled to announce the television premieres of the latest seasons of its seven captivating outdoor adventure series. Filmed in breathtaking locations worldwide and in collaboration with various ATTA member destinations, these highly anticipated episodes will begin airing later this month. 

Premiere Highlights

Outdoor Eats: Elevate your outdoor culinary experience with classically trained Chef Corso in the 2nd season of this unique series, as Chef explores the food scene and food culture of a region before setting out on easy-to-access outdoor experiences.This season, Chef explores southern California; St. Pete Clearwater, Florida; Corpus Christi, Texas; and the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. The new season premieres on Bally Sports on July 18th and on OutsideTV on August 8th

Epic Trails: The 7th season of this award-winning backpacking adventure series returns with new and familiar faces (Eric Hanson, Stella Blashock, and Mike Fink) as it explores the people, places, and adventures surrounding the world’s top trails. Premiering on Bally Sports on July 18th, and on OutsideTV starting August 1st, the new season explores Liechtenstein & Lucerne, Switzerland; Baja California Sur, Mexico; the Azores; and West Virginia. 

Adventure Cities: Embark on a globetrotting urban adventure with award-winning travel writer Jonathan Thompson as he reveals the wonderful cultures, allures, outdoor experiences, and attractions of the world’s most fascinating urban centers. The 3rd season kicks off with an episode filmed in Scottsdale, Arizona, and Montréal, Canada, and premieres on Discovery Channel on July 21st, with other episodes lined up for 2024 release featuring La Paz, Mexico; Lafayette, Louisiana; Lexington, Kentucky; Whistler, British Columbia; and Puerto Jiménez, Costa Rica. 

Facing Waves: Renowned paddlesports expert and former world champion kayaker, Ken Whiting, returns for the 11th season of this series, spotlighting must-visit paddling destinations. Tune in beginning on June 29th on Bally Sports Networks nationwide, and catch it again on OutsideTV starting July 11th, as Ken kayaks in North Lapland, Finland. Other episodes this season feature Ruka-Kuusamo, Finland; Northern Ireland and Ireland’s west coast, and Northern California. 

Great Family Adventure: Join professional athletes Nick Troutman and Emily Jackson, along with their two young children, for their 4th season as they discover Aqaba and beyond in Jordan; Banff & Lake Louise in Canada; Columbus, Georgia; and the Laurentians & Outaouais regions of Québec. The dynamic family unearths exciting outdoor opportunities and experiences off-the-beaten-path adventures as they explore the wonders each region has to offer. Great Family Adventure premieres on Bally Sports on June 29th, with a later premiere on OutsideTV on July 17th

Road Trip Angler: Follow expert adventure angler Jameson Redding in the 3rd season of this funny, engaging & educational kayak fishing series as he explores new and well-loved waterways in Florida, Maryland, and North Carolina this season. Premiering on Bally Sports on July 7th. 

Hook, Line & History: A captivating new series that explores the rich tapestry of fishing heritage and culture, hosted by Ashley Nichole Lewis, a proud member of the Quinault Indian Nation and Ph.D. student of History, which premieres on Bally Sports on July 14th. Featuring Ashley’s Quinault Reservation, come along as she introduces the people, mentors and community that have helped her become Bad Ash Outdoors. 

International Broadcast: All new seasons will also air in Canada on Wild TV and/or Water Network later this summer. In Europe, Facing Waves and Great Family Adventure will be broadcast on Nautical Channel this fall. In 2025, Epic Trails, Facing Waves, Great Family Adventure, Road Trip Angler, and Adventure Cities will also be featured on Public Broadcasting network stations across the U.S.
