Butterfield & Robinson – the world’s premier active travel company – has announced six new trips for 2018, including a self-guided walking trip in the Cotswolds, cycling in South Africa, and a handful of itineraries in new destinations across Europe. With over 50 years of planning and executing unique and unforgettable trips, B&R continues to cement its legacy as a leading active and luxury tour operator for its travellers.

Berlin to Prague Biking
Feeding off the energy of Berlin while venturing to the historic UNESCO World Heritage site of Dresden, cyclists will trek through the stunning countryside of Swiss Saxony and along the Elbe and Vltava River Valleys. This adventure on two wheels culminates with a feast while entrenched in the Gothic beauty of Prague.

Holland Walking
A colourful cultural experience for the senses begins with a tulip farm tour and traditional lunch in a private tower before wandering among windmills. Travellers will retreat to outside of The Hague to explore the Wassenaar woodland before a trip to Leiden (the birthplace of Rembrandt) and delectable cheese and seafood tutorials.

South Africa Biking
From the tops of Table Mountain to the dunes of Walker Bay, cycle through leafy suburbs linking historic wine farms from Cape Town and back. Following a visit to the Grootbos Nature Reserve, cyclists will stay at the fabulous Babylonstoren, a 250-acre working farm. The unforgettable trails, fabulous food and wine truly capture the essence of South Africa.

Romania Biking
Cycling through one of Europe’s deepest historical and cultural landscapes beginning in Southern Transylvania, travellers will be amazed by natural and architectural wonders. From villages to UNESCO World Heritage fortified churches, castles, and medieval cities, travellers will experience six wonderful days of cycling, cuisine and craftsmanship from centuries past.

Basque Country Walking
A rewarding week of hiking takes travellers from mountains to the ocean with indulgent stops along the way. Beginning deep in the heart of French Basque Country, hikers will reach altitudes over 700 ft. in the Pyrenean summits and surrounding mountain villages, enjoying exquisite dining before reaching Spain and settling in Sebastian, where there are the most Michelin star-rated restaurants per capita.

Cotswolds Self-Guided Walking
This walker’s paradise is the perfect trip to experience colourful meadows, mysterious woodland and stately gardens along five Cotswolds counties. Ripe with local produce, cheese, meats and ales, this trip is for explorers who seek superb accommodations, top restaurants and are happy to go at their own pace on a self-guided adventure.

Leading up to today’s release, B&R also recently announced India Walking, marking a return to the vibrant Rajasthan region with luxury lodgings and compelling sights throughout. Also revealed for next year, Rhine River Cruise Biking, part of an expanded partnership with Uniworld Boutique River Cruise which takes cyclists along 1,000 km of river in Switzerland, France, Germany and Holland.
