Adventure travel companies that work directly with customers are invited to participate in a new research study supported by the University of Stavanger and the UBDI Foundation in Norway.
Adventure travel businesses already offer unique, personalized experiences with their customers, but much of this is still driven by human interaction. This study aims to explore how technology can enhance that collaboration, helping businesses deliver even more adaptable, customized experiences. By taking part, you’ll help shape the future of digital tools in adventure travel and ensure that your business stays at the forefront of innovation.
This research, led by Phd Candidate Anne-Sofie Engelschiøn, focuses on how technology can elevate co-creation within adventure travel experiences. Co-creation is about collaborating with customers to co-design experiences that reflect their unique skills, intentions, and preferences. Every adventure, whether it’s a trip, a hike, or a class is a co-created experience where the more a customer can communicate, the better the experience can be tailored to them.
This study explores how digital tools can further enhance this collaborative process. Currently, much of the technology available to the industry focuses on cost reduction and data collection, rather than on enhancing creativity and collaboration. This research seeks to uncover how we can bridge this gap and reach high-tech, high-co-creation environments that benefit both businesses and travelers.
