AOA’s multi-day hiking, cycling, and backpacking tours explore the rugged wilderness and stunning landscapes of unique mountains, deserts, and forests across the American West. From hiking Rim to Rim in the Grand Canyon to cycling the coast of California or backpacking in Arizona’s Superstition Mountains, we are experts in the regions we travel to and take pride in providing the most invigorating, authentic, and highly educational guided trips available. Our multi-day trips can always be customized to suit our client’s travel wishes.
With the Sonoran desert as our playground, we operate half- and full-day guided outdoor adventures including hiking, road cycling, mountain biking, guided kayaking, river rafting, and stand-up paddle board tours in Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix area. We are proud to house the largest rental bike operation in Arizona with a fleet of over 300 high-quality rental bikes ranging from elite performance road bikes like the Trek Domane 6.9 to full- and front-suspension mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, and even children’s’ bikes. In addition to bike rentals and guided trips, AOA is a stand-out in developing and leading fun and interactive corporate team building events in Arizona. Our programs challenge the individual and the team to play for success while cultivating a winning and competitive attitude that is carried into the workplace.
Over the past decade AOA has developed a number of successful partnerships in the adventure travel industry including REI Adventures, National Geographic Adventures, Austin Adventures, Mountain Travel Sobek, Global Adventures, The Ultimate Travel Company and Pure Adventures. Both as an independent operator and through our partnerships, AOA operates guided tours in California, Utah, Arizona, Colorado and North Carolina. In 2014 we will be adding to both the number of itineraries we are independently operating as well as the diversity of location in which our multi-day trips take place. In January of 2014 we launched our first standard itineraries for guided Backpacking Tours with our original batch of trips taking place in Grand Canyon National Park.
