This October, the adventure travel community will gather in Amman, Jordan for AdventureELEVATE Near East 2023, a three-day regional event that showcases the adventure opportunities of the host destination.
Perhaps best-known for the ancient city of Petra, Jordan offers an abundance of experiences for adventure-seekers. From the pine forests and olive groves of the northwest to hiking through the desert wilderness of Wadi Rum and scuba diving in the Red Sea, the country’s varied landscapes and cultural heritage are capturing the attention of travelers worldwide.
Beyond showcasing the host destination, AdventureELEVATE 2023 is set to feature a lineup of keynote speakers and thought-provoking sessions that will ignite discussions and foster collaboration among travel professionals and adventure enthusiasts from around the world.
AdventureELEVATE 2023 Theme: Sharing Fierce Wisdom
This year’s theme – Sharing Fierce Wisdom – will be woven throughout the event as we stoke the adventure travel community’s desire to collaborate with open minds, discuss differences, and create space for innovation as we gain wisdom from one another. With the great diversity of cultures, traditions, and strength across this region of the world, there is a powerful energy that drives the people of Near East nations to fiercely protect what they love and invite others to do so as well.
Each speaker brings a unique perspective and vast experience, offering attendees invaluable insights into sustainable practices, and the challenges and opportunities facing the adventure travel community in the region.
Each keynote speaker embodies the spirit of adventure and sustainability that is at the heart of the industry. These influential individuals will inspire attendees to explore responsible travel practices that preserve the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the Near East.
Opening Keynote: قوة واحدة / Una Fuerza / One Force
As we kick off AdventureELEVATE Near East, our opening keynote speaker will reflect on the event theme of “sharing fierce wisdom,” by describing the work that went into a nationwide adoption of a sustainable tourism strategy from the ministerial level, by sharing stories that will inspire us all to progress towards a healthier version of travel in our own homelands.
Closing Keynote: Sharing through the Senses
Art and music can provide an inclusive experience, take us deeper into a place, and provide value by capturing the attention of our full range of senses. With renowned artists, film, music, and audience participation, this closing keynote will delight the senses and provide a lasting impression of what it means to call Jordan home.
Between these keynote speakers, the agenda is filled with an interactive workshop session and panel discussion, led by subject-area experts in areas such as climate action, industry trends and insights, responsible and meaningful tourism and more. The following are only a few highlights; you can view the full agenda here:
- Achieving the Vision of Responsible Travel in the Near East: Learn from innovators, investors, and local stakeholders who are working hard to implement real change so that adventure travelers can responsibly experience the Near East, protect what they learn to love, and support the transition to inclusive and circular economies.
- Climate Action for Small Businesses: Explore the topic of climate change and share information about what you may have observed in landscape, wildlife, water and especially local communities’ lifestyles that have occurred as a result of climate change.
In addition to the educational components of the agenda, there are plenty of structured and unstructured networking opportunities throughout the event. Marketplace will provide a focused setting for local and regional inbound tour operators and accommodations ready for international travelers to connect with potential partners and media during pre-scheduled meetings.
