San Cristobal de Las Casas, CHIAPAS, July 4th 2014 - In its third year, Adventure Travel Mexico - ATMEX 2014 - will take place in San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas. The event, to be held from 27 to 30 August, is organized by the Federal Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR), the Tourism Board of Mexico (CPTM), the Ministry of Tourism of the State of Chiapas, the Office of Conventions and Visitors of Chiapas (OCV Chiapas) and the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA).
Its objectives include providing a unique space for the promotion and marketing of products and destinations for adventure and nature tourism, highlighting the different tourist destinations in Mexico specialized in the segment, and bringing the enormous potential of the Mexican market for nature and adventure tourism to the international market.
"Chiapas is ready to receive the representatives of the nature and adventure tourism industry. Our extraordinary biodiversity make us one of the states with the greatest potential in this segment and therefore an ideal place to show what Mexico has to offer to adventure travelers", said Mario Uvence Rojas, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Chiapas.
San Cristobal de Las Casas will host the event in an area of 65,000 square feet of exhibition: tourism, seminars, conferences and other activities that will take place in venues like the Municipal Palace of San Cristobal de Las Casas, the Hermanos Domínguez Theatre and the Cultural Center del Carmen, among others.

- 100 international visitors between buyers, press and speakers
- 250 domestic visitors between buyers, press, sponsors and speakers
Spaces for exhibitors and sponsors ranging from 98 to 320 square feet are now available and will be priced between 20,000 - 50,000 Mexican pesos. Similarly, there are several packages to sponsors that will benefit from the presence of both domestic and foreign buyers.
