Washington, D.C. – December just got a bit warmer for the children at Warm Heart Children's Center in Thailand. During a recent expedition by Trekking for Kids (TFK), the children were treated to a special screening of The Smurfs as part of a holiday partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment.
In addition to the screening, Sony Pictures provided a generous holiday donation and is featuring the foundation in its holiday messaging, which Sony employees worldwide send to their friends and colleagues throughout the holiday season.  The donation will enable TFK to expand its trek offerings, in which participants not only experience the wonder and rigor of the outdoors, but also spend unforgettable days with orphan children living in the shadows of the trek destinations, and will also enhance the group’s efforts to reach more potential trekkers. In addition, a portion of the donation will support the TFK Orphanage Sustainability Fund, which provides resources for small, capital improvements on orphanages where the organization has worked in the past.
“We are grateful to Sony Pictures for their generous support. Their contributions will allow us to have an immediate impact on the lives of the children we serve all over the world,” said Cindy Steuart, executive director of Trekking for Kids.
“Trekking for Kids does amazing work, and Sony Pictures was thrilled to play a small part in making the holiday season a bit brighter for the children served by this extraordinary foundation,” says Janice Pober, senior vice president, Global Corporate Social Responsibility, Sony Pictures Entertainment.
